RC - Feedback from our class

On Monday we played a couple of song tracks (The Gaslight Anthem - 'Film Noir' and The Artic Monkey's - '505') to the rest of our class, with the intention of using their responses to help decipher what track we actually want to do and any potential concept ideas. From this we actually decided that in the end we did not want to continue with any of the tracks, as we felt that we were quite restricted with what we could do with them. In particular, both tracks went on for a very long time, which would make it hard for us to create a video that sustained enigma throughout. We also then realised that the singer from The Gaslight Anthem is infact American, so we felt we would be misleading our audience if we were to film our video in England, and that the characters would not fit the grain of voice of that song.

We left the lesson with the hopes that by our next one we would have chosen a track.

  1. CH - thanks for posting up the feedback Rosie, we completely missed the grain of voice! Could have been a massive mistake, we could really do without having a film that looks less professional or less realistic... Also good point about sustained enigma, creating a narrative fuzz 4 minutes in length is quite a task (especially with the somewhat vague musical input from the track 505, even if it would have been fun to explore the routes we could have taken in conceptual filming)
I reckon we need to discuss further the Technodanceaphobic track, but at the moment I'd say it's the best course of action?

  2. I definitely agree with you there. I feel like the track has a lot of potential due to being of a good time length, but also because of the many routes we could take concept wise. I'm really excited now!
